7040 Adhesion Promoter Description
An acrylic – urethane resin clear intended for use as an adhesion promoter for soft, flexible rubber.
7040 is a specialty adhesion promoter made to match the hardness / durometer of rubber (Tg value of ~ 55) for optimum adhesion. For harder durometer substrates, 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear is a better adhesive coating.
Thinning
Thinning not required. 7040 may be thinned with 4011 Reducer. Add 4011 5% - 10% per volume.
Allow reduced mix 10+ minutes to acclimate before spraying.
Application
7040 is best applied with a spray-gun with a 1.3mm – 1.4mm
Tip-size. Follow the spray-gun manufacturer’s psi recommendations.
Apply one or two medium coats, each 0.5 – 0.75 mil thick wet.
Allow 10 to 20-minute re-coat time.
Apply Createx paints 20-minutes to 24 hours after application.
Scuffing not required prior to applying paint.
For other paint types, test before using.
Pot-Life & Storage
7040 does not have a pot-life when used without thinning.
When adding 4011 Reducer to thin, 7040 is best sprayed within 48 hours after adding reducer.
Store air-tight in a cool, dry environment away from direct light. Keep air-tight when not pouring paint. Fresh air promotes curing of paint at the surface level.
5092 Flex Additive
An acrylic resin clear intended for use as an adhesive coating direct to latex before applying paint.
5092 is a specialty adhesion promoter intended to match the
Hardness / durometer of latex. Helps prevent paint conform to the flexible nature of latex and from flaking or peeling off.
Thinning
Thinning, reducing, 5092 is not required.
Application
Apply with an airbrush 0.35mm tip-size or large, or with a spray-gun.
Apply one or two very light coats, ~ .025 mil thick wet.
Allow 10 to 20-minute re-coat time.
Apply Createx paints 20-minutes to 24 hours after application.
Scuffing not required prior to applying paint.
For other paint types, test before using.
5092 remains tacky after application.
5092 may also be mixed with Createx paints for adhesion to latex. Mix 5092 ~ 25% per volume with Bloodline Colors (Bloodline 3:1 5092). Thin mix ~ 5% - 20% with 4011 Reducer.
Pot Life & Storage
5092 do not have a pot-life. Store air-tight in a cool, dry environment away from direct light. Keep capped air-tight when not pouring paint.
Long-term storage of paint is affected after mixing with 4011 Reducer. Only reduce 5092 intended for use within 48-hours.

Drying Times and Humidity
Dry Times & Curing are set to a constant temperature of
70⁰F / 21⁰C and 50% Relative Humidity. Extend drying times in colder temperatures down to 60 F⁰ / 16⁰C.
- Painting in lower temperatures not recommended.
- Avoid painting when dew point temperature and
Air temperature are with 10 degrees of each other,
due to condensation on substrate surface.
Cleaning Airbrush & Spray Gun After Painting
7040 and 5092 are best rinsed from the airbrush or spray-gun with 5618 Airbrush Cleaner or 4011 Reducer.
Use 4008 Restorer as a rinse for final clean to remove dried paint.
Health & Safety
Use in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water after use.
Do not ingest.
Use in a well-ventilated.
Wear a NIOSH / MSHA respirator when painting.
Eye contact: Rinse with clean water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
